In March 2016 the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm opened its annual tulip fest, where you can walk among the flowers in all their dazzling glory. So many colors. So intense, so beautiful. One of the best places in the Pacific Northwest. Members of the Portland Instagram Group, of which I am a founder, held an instameet among the tulip fields. A drizzly good time! Back to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Fest 2016
It was a gloriously sunny morning in April 2016, so it was a good idea to return to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival in Woodburn, Oregon. We arrived a little after sunrise; a thick fog was still there, though burning off quickly, and four hot air balloons were landing and taking off among the tulips. You couldn't ask for anything more lovely.

Just after sunset on 22 April 2016, I walked around a couple of the blocks in my Portland neighborhood taking a few photos of the many dazzling flowers along the sidewalk. I am preparing to move to a new area here, so it was a little bittersweet. So here is something of a goodbye to my 10 years (next month) in Portland's Richmond district.

Leach Botanical Garden
After our trip to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival in April 2017 Amanda Ulrich and I visited the Leach Botanical Garden on the outer edge of southeast Portland. We didn't have much time as we got there just a few minutes before closing. It is such a lovely spot though that I still had a blast.
